According to Dick’s Executive Chair Ed Stack, Foot Locker will close many shops in the coming months.

Stack said that the store closures are “part of a larger restructuring it’s implementing so Foot Locker isn’t a drag on its profits come fiscal 2026.”

However, Dick’s “declined to say how many stores would be impacted and whether the restructuring will include layoffs,” according to CNBC.

Stack said that Dick’s plans to “clean out the garage” with Foot Locker’s inventory.

Stack added that Dick’s is “extremely confident in the ability to turn this around.”

He also said that vendors are “really supporting of what we’re doing at Foot Locker.”

In Q3, Dick’s posted a profit of just $75 million compared to $228 million the year prior.
