Rafique Malik’s journey began with his father, Malik Tejani, who founded Metro as a single shoe store in Mumbai in 1955. Rafique successfully expanded this small business into a robust company, establishing a strong presence in India’s affordable fashion footwear market. Rafique Malik is a self-made man. He is widely known as a master of Indian footwear retail. His guiding beliefs, values, and determination have propelled Metro Brands Limited to great heights of success.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala Connection

However, Malik remains relentless in his pursuit of new launches and achievements. He listed his company with a Rs 1,367 crore IPO in December 2021. Notably, the family of the late billionaire Rakesh Jhunjhunwala owns a small stake in Metro Brands.
