TOWIE star Mario Falcone has been forced to shut down his luxury shoe brand just four years after its glitzy launch.

The TV personality quit the ITV2 reality show in 2021 to launch his own line of trainers, Belvotti Milano.

He followed the footsteps of his former co-star Tommy Mallet, who had a phenomenal success with his shoe line Mallot London, which is estimated to be worth over £2.5 million.

Despite facing financial challenges, including a court case that resulted in a £25 million loss, the brand has shown resilience and potential for growth.

But sadly, Mario’s luxury shoe business has now officially closed.

The first notice for compulsory strike-off appeared in the Gazette on 21 November 2023, before the company was formally dissolved via strike-off on 6 February 2024, meaning it no longer legally exists.

A compulsory strike-off is when a company is removed from the official Companies House register because it hasn’t been active or hasn’t met legal requirements – like filing accounts or confirmation statements.

It’s not a voluntary closure – the government essentially forces the company to close.

The company was incorporated with £100 capital in September 2020.

Mario and Jack Charles Warke Southwell were appointed as directors in July 2021.

Jainita Patel took over as a director that December, and there have been several changes of directors in the years that followed.

However, Mario has another business venture in the finance sector.

His financial management company, Lend Corporation Limited, is signalling a focus from fashion to finance.

His office is in Brentwood, and it was incorporated on 14 August 2023.

The company focuses on financial management, with Mario aiming for a more practical and sustainable business model.

Fans are curious to see if this venture will prove more successful than his luxury shoe line.

Mario first shot to fame back in 2013 when he joined Towie alongside then-girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh, before bowing out in 2015 with the odd comeback since.

The Essex lad’s lothario antics – and Lucy’s own drama with Mark Wright – kept him at the center of the show’s juiciest storylines.

But away from reality TV, Mario has since settled down with fiancée Becky Miesner, a make-up artist and salon boss, and the pair share a young son, Parker.

Lockdown gave Mario the push to finally step into the fashion world, launching a luxury shoe line inspired by his past work as a tailor.

Talking about launching the venture at the time, he said: “Fashion has always been a big part of my life, having worked previously as a tailor, but over the past few years I’ve moved away from it, especially since Parker came along.

“Since the lockdown last year, however, it gave me much more time to concentrate on what’s most important and makes me happy.

“It’s a project I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but 2020 gave me the headspace to make Belvotti Milano a reality.”

He added: “‘Belvotti Milano is my way to showcase the creativity I’ve always obtained through my tailoring work and focus it into making aspirational trainers at a price point that still makes them accessible…

“For me, it’s all about a design which is on trend, without conforming to something you’d stereotypically expect.”
